Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology was constituted in 1980. It is placed in the IT city of Bangalore. The college is sanctioned by All India Council for Technical teaching (AICTE), New Delhi. Attached to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), the college is assisted by the Government of Karnataka. Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology is a grant-in-aid institution of Government of Karnataka and most of its departments are recognized by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Presently, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology provides technical courses in ten branches of engineering.
