Amrita Centr e for Nanosciences (ACNS) is an independent Centre under the University with both research and academic components. The scientific goal of ACNS under the currently funded program is to develop affordable products of high quality that utilizes the novel properties of nanomaterials. The center has over 40 students currently pursuing their M Tech or Ph D degrees in nanosciences. As the first nanotechnology center established with support from the Government of India in the biomedical area, the center is pioneering work in the development of natural tissues and organs without the need for using synthetic implants or searching for donors.
