Ananda Chnadra College of Commerce, which is now situated in the heart of the Jalpaiguri Town on the D.B.C. Road, did not start its journey from the same premises from its very beginning. An evening Commerce Section of Ananda Chandra College was opened with only 54 students in the B. Com. 1st Year Class and five part-time teachers on 5th November, 1962 at Sonaulla School. On the 10th December, 1962 Late Nares Chandra Bhowmick took charge of the evening section of Ananda Chandra College as Vice-Principal-in–charge. The College is located in the heart of the historic divisional town, Jalpaiguri on the D.B.C road over an area of 1.05 acres. It is a co-education college from the very inception where boys and girls are admitted in the day section.
