The Biju Patnaik University of Technology ( BPUT ), Orissa, with its main office in Rourkela established in November 2002 by an act of the Government. The primary goals of instituting the University was to assure a top quality of students coming out of the technical colleges by a common curriculum and uniform valuation. at present time, the University has 110 colleges, both component and associated, with about 58,000 students. The subjects include engineering and architecture, business management and hotel management, computer studies and pharmacy. Various of these offer both undergraduate and post graduate studies.
