Diploma in Applied Psychology

The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology is planned to train graduates of Psychology for professional practice in the application of sub-disciplines of Psychology. The aim is to work a flexible degree structure that attracts upon the intensities and interests of current academic staff, but renders students with a coherent and centered course of study involving a substantial practical component. The field of psychology deals with human behavior from its evolution to biological basis, the nervous system, mind and cognition, to the study of how social components affect the behavior of individuals and of groups.

Students to be accepted to the programme must have finished high education and must be at least sixteen years of age. Psychology is the science of mental procedures: the taxonomic study of behavior. It is a study of mankind at all degrees in their lives from birth to old age, evaluating how humans think and use ideas, how they vary in personality and behavior and how they are influenced by international surroundings stimuli from work, school, family and lifestyle. Within this course, the fundamental factors of experimental and quasi-experimental research will be inserted; types of data; descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency & dispersion); and basic conceptions of sampling and probability.
