The Centre of Distance Education was found in 2001 for the coordination of causes of individuals in linguistics and cross-cultural communication in Moscow and other Russian universities, concerned in using ICT in foreign language teaching. The Centre of Distance Education is a member of European Association of Distance Learning (EADL), the intentions of which is to disseminate knowledge about distance education, its prospective and achievements, to formulate and support professional and ethical values in DL & to encourage research in the methodology of DL.
