Forest Research Institute , Dehradun is an institute of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education .

FRI is a premier institution in the field of forestry research in India. It declared a deemed university by the University Grants Commission

FRI established to fulfill the research needs of the Indo-Gangetic plains of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
