Our programs prepare students for careers in molecular, biomedical, and physiological research, as well as further study towards a variety of health careers (medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy, etc). Student-centered research is at the heart of all of our degree programs.

Aspects of the Department

All students have independent research experiences working closely with faculty mentors

Students travel to research conferences. We typically take 40-50 students a year to present their work.

Students gain research experiences using a variety of traditional model systems: mouse, C. elegans, fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster), zebrafish, and tissue culture systems.
