Re: Course For CDS I am providing the Syllabus for the Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examination It will Consist of 3 Parts 1 English 2 General Knowledge 3 Arithmetic 1.English : It Consist Of understanding of English and workmanlike use of words. 2.General Knowledge : It Consist of knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience. It also include questions on History of India and Geography of a nature 3.Arithmetic : Relation between its roots and coefficients Multiples and factors. Tests of divisibility by 2,3,4,5,9 and 11. Use of logarithmic tables. Prime and composite numbers. Basic Operations, Applications to simple and compound interest, Theory of polynomials, Fundamental operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, H.C.F. and L.C.M. Euclidean algorithm, Unitary method-time and distance, Laws of logarithms, time and work, percentages, H.C.F., L.C.M. Number System-Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and Real numbers. Logarithms to base 10, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, variation. Remainder Theorem, Simple factors, Solutions of quadratic equations, Elementary Number Theory-Division algorithm. Factorisation Theorem. Simultaneous linear inequations in two variables and their solutions. Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns-analytical and graphical solutions.
