I want to pursue higher studies from abroad and for this decided to give the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Can you please provide me IELTS Total score details along with sections comes in the exam also provide list of some tips to prepare for this IELTS exam?

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication.

IELTS is required for entry to university in the UK and other countries.

Multi-level

You get a score between 1 and 9. Half scores such as 6.5 are possible. Universities often demand an IELTS score of 6 or 7.

They may also demand a minimum score in each of the 4 sections.

IELTS test fee:

Fees are set by test centres and vary from country to country. Expect to pay around £115 GBP, €190 Euros or $200 USD.

Some tips for preparation:

Skim through each text to try to get a basic understanding of what it is about. What is the text about? Who was it written for?
Carefully read the title and any sub-heading.
What is the main point of each paragraph? Each paragraph contains a single main idea. The questions will focus on these main ideas.
Remember questions appear in the same order as the answers in the text.
