NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) Limited is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.

Yes NMDC, India s largest iron ore miner, is setting up a pilot plant in Tanzania for processing the yellow metal at an investment of around Rs. 50 crore. In February 2014 the East African country had granted NMDC four gold mining leases for an area of 38.83 sq. km for 10 years.
