Work Timings
As an Income Tax Inspector, you will have a proper work schedule.

Daily you will be going in the morning and coming back to your home in the evening, no extra work hours and working in shifts.

But in some special cases like when on raid or search, you may have to work for longer and uncertain durations.

Tentative Pay scale
(i) Pay Scale 9300-34800
(ii) Grade Pay 4600
(iii) Initial Pay 9300
(iv) Total Pay (i) + (ii ) 13900

As an Income tax Inspector you will be entitled to the following major allowances:
DA on Total Pay above
Transport Allowance
House Rent Allowance(if not provided with quarters)
30 litres petrol.
Limited bill for mobile

Eligibility
A candidate must have attained the age of Minimum 18 years and must not have attained the age of Maximum 25 years

A candidate must hold degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.

Physical Standards
1. Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Male candidates)
Height - 157.5 cms

Chest - 81 cms (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms (Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Kumaon Region, Nagaland Tribes and members of ST)

Physical Test: Walking - 1600 metres in 15 minutes, Cycling - 8 Km in 30 minutes

2. Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Lady Candidates)
Height - 152 cms

Weight - 48 Kg

Height relaxable by 2.5 cm and weight by 2 kg for Gorkhans, Garhwalis, Assamese, Kumaon region and Nagaland Tribes and members of ST

Physical Test: Walking - 1 km in 20 minutes, Cycling - 3 km in 20 minutes
