MIT LGO students develop management expertise and technical abilities as joint students in the MIT School of Engineering and the MIT Sloan School of Management. MIT Leaders for Global Operations Earn an MBA and a masters degree in engineering in two years. Students finish with a masters degree in engineering and an MBA. Their grads have the technical, analytical, and business skills needed to lead strategic initiatives in high-tech, operations, and manufacturing companies. LGO students are fully integrated into the MIT Sloan MBA program. During their two years at MIT, LGO students complete a curriculum that combines the requirements for two separate degrees: a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sloan School of Management and a Master of Science (SM) from the School of Engineering in one of six disciplines. The program begins in early June. Requirement- A strong academic background with a previous bachelors degree in a STEM field (Some students have also earned a first masters degree prior to LGO, and thats okay, too.) Research and academic interest in your chosen engineering field Ideally, two or more years of work experience showing career development and growth Demonstrated leadership and an ability to inspire others Interest in a career in operations, manufacturing, product development, technology, or similar engineering management path Application deadline- MIT LGO Application Round 1 September 25, 3:00 PM Round 1 LGO Application Deadline Late October/Early November LGO Interviews: Selected candidates will be invited to interview. We plan to run LGO interviews on the same days as MBA Round 1 interviews. You will have the option to interview in Cambridge, but you may be able to interview at other cities as well. We strongly encourage applicants to interview in person. by December 19 Admissions Decisions: Applicants in Round 1 have the following possible results: Admitted to the LGO program Wait-listed to LGO and considered in LGO Round 2. You could be wait listed without interview in Round 1, and then invited to interview in Round 2. Admitted or wait listed to the MBA program only. Considered in the MBA-only round 2 admissions. Rejected from both the MIT LGO and MBA programs. February 19 Decision Deadline: Admitted students must reply to our offer by this date.
