Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement and admission process for Bachelor Degree in Education (B. Ed) Programme for admission in Mysore University?

The Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (Classes VI to VIII), secondary level (Classes IX- X) and senior secondary level Classes ( IX- XII).

Eligibility:

Any UG or PG degree holder of a university recognized by UGC and/ a degree from foreign university which has equivalence to Indian Universities are eligible.

One with minimum 50% of marks either in bachelors degree and / or the Masters degree or any other qualifications equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the
programme.

The minimum marks to be secured in the last qualifying examination for SC/ ST/ CAT-1/PH candidates will be of 45%.

The reservation of seats for reserved categories is as per the university notification and / the notification issued by the State Government in the matter of reservation policy notified from time to time.

Admission Procedure
Admission is made on merit, on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government and the University.


Intake
There will be a basic unit of 50 students, with a maximum of two units.


Duration
The programme will be of duration of two academic years (4 semesters) which can be completed in a maximum period of 4 years (8 semesters) from the date of admission to the course
