CA (Chartered Accountant) Course conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India comprises of 4 Important Levels:
1) Common Proficiency Test (CPT)
2) Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)/IPCE
3) Three years Articleship/ Training under a Practicing C.A
4) C. A. Final

Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course is the first stage of the chartered accountancy curriculum wherein only working knowledge of core and allied subjects to accountancy profession is covered, while at the Final course, advanced application knowledge of core and allied subjects to accountancy profession has been intended to be inculcated.

Eligibility Qualification/ Requirement to Enrol for Intermediate (IPC) Course:
One is eligible for IPC Course on passing the Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 exam) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an exam recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto.

One who has already passed Entrance Exam or Foundation Exam or Professional Education (Exam-I) shall be eligible for enrolment to Intermediate (IPC) Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.

One who was already registered for erstwhile Intermediate/ Professional Education (Course-II)/ or Professional Competence Course cum articleship is eligible for enrolment/ conversion to Intermediate (IPC) Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.

One who is Graduates/ Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks or other than those falling under Commerce stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in exam conducted by any recognized University (including Open University) and one who has passed the Intermediate level exam conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India are exempted from qualifying Common Proficiency Test (CPT) vide Notification No. 1-CA(7)/145/2012 dated August 1, 2012 can register directly in the Intermediate (IPC) Course.

One who is pursuing the Final year Graduation Course can also register for the Intermediate (IPC) Course on provisional basis and such students registration would be regularised and can commence practical training only on submission of satisfactory proof of having passed the Graduation exam with the specified percentage of marks within 6 months from the date of appearance in the final year graduation exam. During the provisional registration period, one can undergo and complete Information Technology Training (ITT) and Orientation Course. If such student fails to produce the proof within the aforesaid period, ones provisional registration stand cancelled and registration and other fees, as the case may be, paid is not refunded/ adjusted and no credit is given for the theoretical education undergone. One has to register and undergo Orientation Programme and 100 hours ITT at any time after registration to Intermediate (IPC) Course. One shall have to complete the same before commencement of practical training.

Company Law (30 Marks)
Part II: Ethics (20 Marks)
Part III: Communication (20 Marks)
Paper 3: Cost Accounting and Financial Management
Part I: Cost Accounting (50 Marks)
Part II: Financial Management (50 Marks)
Paper 4: Taxation
Part I: Income-tax (50 Marks)
Part II: Service Tax (25 Marks) and
VAT (25 marks)

Group II
Paper 5: Advanced Accounting (100 Marks) Paper 6: Auditing and Assurance (100 Marks)
Paper 7: Information Technology and Strategic Management
Section A: Information Technology (50 Marks)
Section B: Strategic Management (50 Marks)
The subjects of Intermediate (IPC) Course are classified into two groups which a student can study and appear in the examination group-wise or both the groups together.

Can you tell me what eligibility is required after clearing Common Proficiency Test (CPT) under CA (Chartered Accountant) Course conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India?
