The Lucknow University offers Doctor of Philosophy P.hd (Zoology) program

Selection to the Ph.D program will be based on Qualifying Entrance test (QET), followed by interview round.

Lucknow University PhD Zoology Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade B in the UGC point scale in their respective Masters degree or a professional degree declared equal to masters degree

For S.C./S.T./OBC/PH candidates, qualifying marks shall be 50% at Masters degree level.

The students appearing for final year of their post-graduate degree examination will also be eligible to apply

Lucknow University PhD Zoology Selection Process

Selection process will have 2 steps which are

Step 1 - QET

The syllabus of the QET will be the same as prescribed for the PG Programs of the university.

QET will be of 90 minutes duration.

There will be a single question paper of 100 marks having 100 multiple choice questions and questions will check the subject proficiency and research aptitude of the candidate.

The minimum qualifying marks for QET will be 50%.

QET will not be conducted for the exempted candidates

Step 2 Interview

Interview will be conducted for both the candidates i.e. candidates who will qualify QET as well as QET exempted candidates.

It shall consist of evaluating the candidates based on the following parameters:

A research proposal (400-600 words) in the area of research interest of the applicants which will be submitted to the interview board

A power point presentation of the said research proposal by the applicant must be presented in front of the interview board

Personal Interview (PI)-

Candidates must bring all the relevant documents during interview.

Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the interview (60 %) and the academic index (40%) of the applicants.

The total result will be computed out of 100.
