The work of a Tax Assistant will comprise mostly of clerical work. The major task assigned to a Tax Assistant in Staff Selection Commission SSC will be to properly dispatch and prepare reports for the department he/ she gets posted in, which can be Excise, Service Tax and Customs.

SSC Tax Assistant pay Scale-

The salary breakdown of a Tax Assistant working in Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is as follows.

Pay Scale: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/-
Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-

SSC Tax Assistant Eligibility–

Degree from recognized university or equivalent

Age Limit for UR is 18-27 year.

Being Group-C service, the age relaxation for UR central govt employees servicing for 3 years continuously is 40 years for this post. For reserved categories add to it the usual age relaxation available to them.
