The Department of Law, School of Legal Studies of Central University of Kashmir is an emerging teaching centre at CUK.

It is the first of departments to start an undergraduate course that is BALLB at the University.

The department offers the following programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.

Courses-

Integrated - B.A LL.B

The department offers five year integrated degree programme in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BALLB).

Eligibility-

Higher Secondary Examination Part Two/10+2 become eligible to seek admission in this course.

The admission is strictly based on All India Level Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET).

LL.M

The Master of Laws (LL.M) is a two-year postgraduate research degree programme.

It involves both taught and research components.

The programme specializes in Criminal Justice System and Constitutional Law

Scholars who are admitted to this programme already hold an honours degree in law.

The admission to this programme is strictly based on All Indian Level Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) held every year.

Ph.D

The Department also offers the research degree programme in Law at doctoral level.

At present, the Department focuses on the following research areas:

Criminal Justice System
International Law and Human Rights
Business & Corporate Law
Islamic and Comparative Law
Constitutional Law and Criminology
