Can you tell me in detail about the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL)?

The Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu to produce newsprint and writing paper using bagasse, a sugarcane residue.

The Government of Tamil Nadu listed the paper mill in April 1979 as one of the most environmentally compliant paper mills in the world under the provisions of the Companies Act of 1956.

TNPL CDM Projects

TNPL (Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited) as leader in implementing sustainable and environment friendly technology projects has already registered 4 CDM projects with UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), 1st under waste management sector (biogas), 2nd and 4th in renewable energy sector (Wind Farm) and 3rd in energy efficiency improvement to mitigate climate change and 3 projects are under the validation stage.

2. 6.75 MW Small Scale Grid Connected Wind Electricity Generation Project.
3. Energy Efficiency Improvement at Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited
4. 13.75 MW Grid connected Wind Electricity generation" Project by Tamil Nadu Newsprints and Papers Limited
