Charlotte School of Law and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte jointly offer a dual JD/MBA program that will prepare students for careers in law and management and provide them with the skill sets to meet the challenges of a modern corporate environment.

MBA/J.D dual degree program

The MBA/J.D dual degree program allows students to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Charlotte School of Law in eight semesters of study.

Prospective dual-degree program students must apply separately to both UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte School of Law.

They then spend their entire second or third year at the other institution. For the remainder of the program, students take classes at both UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte School of Law.

Each school grants nine (9) units of credit for courses taken at the other school.

This dual-degree program provides an opportunity for their students to broaden their perspectives through access to one of the leading MBA programs in the country. It has also been one of the most-requested programs from our students.

Full-time students have the option of spending their first year at either Charlotte School of Law or UNC Charlotte.

Following that, they will spend their entire second or third year at the other institution before splitting their time at both schools to complete the program.

Each school will grant nine credits for courses taken at the other school.

Students participating in the dual JD/MBA program must apply separately to both schools and can begin the program at either institution.

In addition, students must complete prerequisites for each institution, including taking both the Graduate Management Admission Test and Law School Admission Test prior to the application process.
