Introduction
The University was established in June 1985 around the nucleus of Centre for Post Graduate Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay in Goa. GOA University was founded in 1985 incorporating the then existing PG Centre for Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay.
Goa University in collaboration with the University of Salzburg, Austria has launched the online programme in Geographic Information Science in April, 2005. Goa University was established in 1985 and merged with the Centre for Post Graduate Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay that functioned at state-capital Panaji or Panjim.
