The Foundation started out its activities in 2003. In that year, it co-sponsored 2 symposia. More activities were attempted in 2004 after transfer of funds. Four travel bursaries for attending/ presenting papers as invited speaker/ chairing scientific sessions in important International Conferences/ Scientific meetings were given. The Immunology Foundation (‘Foundation’) was produced at the initiative of the Indian Immunology Society (‘Society’) with aims committed to the advancement of the science of immunology and allied sciences.
Its aim is to produce an information network and cooperation between better empowered research lab having methods and reagents for sharing with others in universities and peripheral research centers which are in demand for these techniques and reagents. It also gets expertise from the international field for training local scientists in the most recent immunology techniques and advances. Its mission is to make awards and to distinguish great attempts by Indian and other scientists in Immunology and associated sciences.
