The Periyar University has founded a Directorate for Distance Education namely, Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) from 2001-2002. Periyar University has also based a directorate for distance education is known for Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) that conducts courses by the distance learning mode in order to offer higher education. The university covers almost all the levels of education including undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, PhD, PG diploma, diploma, and certificate courses. The University has been recognized with National Accreditation Council (NAAC) certification.

Periyar University is declared Distance Education Post Graduate Examination results on its official website.

The result is also available at the Periyar University’s notice board and its official website. Candidates who appeared for the Periyar University Examination and they would be waiting good results can check their results after enter the name and roll no from PU website.
