Ranchi University in Jharkhand was founded in 1960. It is central office in Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand. An associating university to University Grants Commission (UGC), it is a public university contributing multi-level courses in a form of subjects. Ranchi University leads traditional Bachelors and Masters level courses in Arts, Science and Commerce. Post Graduation Diploma is allowed in new age career-designed courses of Food Preservation & Bakery, Plant Biotechnology, and Vastu Shastra, Mass Communication, Electronics and Information Technology. Professional degrees are offered in Engineering, Medical, Law and Education.
There is a central library with prominent books and journals for the academic demands of the students. Accommodation is rendered to the girl and boys students separately. Computer center with Internet service is available in and all over the university campus. Sports, cultural activities, social activities (through NSS) are encouraged by the university.
