Admission in Uttarakhand Open University

Can you tell me about the New Admission Plan from 2016-17 Session as announced by Uttarakhand Open University as I want to apply in it accordingly?

Uttarakhand Open University uses narrative educational programmes, various modes of communication technology and contact sessions to make distance learning more effective. Its major objective is to cater to the educational needs of the target groups to create skilled and knowledge based human resource for speedy upliftment and development of the State.


The New Admission Plan from 2016-17 Session as announced by Uttarakhand Open University is as follows:

New Admission plan from 2016-17 Session

University has incorporated in its admission plan from 2016-17 session. These modifications are as follows:

University has initiated admissions in two cycles – Summer cycle (From July to June) and Winter Cycle (January to December).

The last dates of admissions in summer cycle is now as follows :

Last Date with late fee Rs.500
30 September

One can take admission and pay online via Debit/Cerdit Card or Internet Banking. One may also opt for offline method (By purchasing prospectus or downloading admission form from University’s website). In offline method, one has to pay fee through Bank Challan (SBI or Bank of Baroda).

One may pursue two programmes simultaneously i.e., one Degree and one Diploma (Excluding PG Diploma) or one Certificate, however, one can’t enroll for two degree programs simultaneously.
