The eligibility criteria and other details needed for admission to M. Sc in Bioinformatics Program as offered by University of Pune are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to M. Sc in Bioinformatics:

One must have completed the graduation in any of the following subjects such as B.Sc / B.Sc (Agriculture)/ BCS / BE / B.Tech / MBBS /B Pharm / BAMS / BHMS / BVSc.

One who is appearing for the qualifying examination (as prescribed above) is eligible to apply for the entrance examination.


Selection Procedure:

Candidates eligible will be selected based on their performance in the entrance examination. If 2 applicants secure the same marks in the entrance examination, the performance in the qualifying examination will be taken into account in the preparation of the merit-list.

The total number of seats for the Course at present is thirty


Certificates other documents required in connection with admission:

1. Statement of marks of every year / semester of the qualifying examination.
2. Transference / leaving certificate from the educational institution previously attended (in case of candidates passing the qualifying examination from Pune University).
3. Migration certificate from the University previously attended (in case of candidates passing qualifying examination from Universities other than Pune University).
4. Reserved Category Certificate from the competent authority (applicable to candidates belonging to reserved categories of Maharashtra state only).
5. Non-creamy layer certificate if candidate belongs to NT-C, NT-D, or OBC Categories of Maharashtra.
5. Birth certificate / school leaving certificate.
6. Certificate from a competent authority (District Civil Surgeon) showing minimum 40% physical disability for candidates having physical disability.

Fees Structure

Rs. 25,547/- per year for students who can produce a domicile certificate from the State of Maharashtra

Rs. 36,347/- per year for other Indian students
The fees may be changed by the University authorities from time to time.
