IIT Bombay Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, is a nodal center for applying science and engineering principles to further fundamental knowledge and applications in biology and biomedical engineering.

IIT Bombay Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering offered MSc (Biotechnology) Program to impart in-depth knowledge of molecular cell biology, computational biology and their applications.

Courses curriculum
The curriculum covers courses in :
Thermodynamics,
Spectroscopy,
Enzymology,
Metabolism,
Genetics,
Cell biology,
Analytical biochemistry and microbiology,
Molecular biology,
Genetic engineering,
Immunology,
Molecular biophysics and bioinformatics,
Together with relevant laboratory programs,
Research project leading to a dissertation.

The program is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, which provides a stipend of Rs. 3000/- pm.
