Can you tell me how many times is the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted in a year by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India?

From academic year 2016-17 onwards, the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) exam will be conducted only once a year.

It is an online computer-based test conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India. It is a national-level admission test for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE.

CMAT Eligibility
• Graduates with 50% in any discipline
• Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply

CMAT Exam Events Important Dates
Commencement of Online Registration First week of November 2016
Conclusion of Online Registration 2nd week of December 2016
Issue of Admit Card 2nd week of January 2017
Test Date 3rd week of January 2017
Result declaration Last week of January 2017

CMAT 2017 Exam Pattern

The questions in CMAT 2017 are divided in 4 sections with multiple choice questions.

The questionnaire is divided into the following questions and each section carries 25 questions having a maximum of 100 marks.
• Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
• Logical reasoning
• Language comprehension
• General awareness

One score 4 marks for each right answer and lose 1 mark for each wrong answer.

The Quantitative techniques section covers subjects such as Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Number Systems, Set Theory, Permutations & Combinations and other miscellaneous topics.

In Data Interpretation, the subjects covered are tables calculation, Line & Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Case lets based DI, Combination Tables/Graphs, Reasoning – Tables, Graphs and miscellaneous or Non classifiable concepts & Unusual Graphs
In Logical Reasoning, the topics covered are Circular, Linear, , Blood Relations & Family Trees, Groupings Tabular Arrangements, Visual Reasoning, Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Reasoning Series, Truth / Lies and multiple other concepts and miscellaneous or Non Classifiable concepts.

Reading Comprehension covers topics based on: Passage Structure, Inference Fact, Tone, Main Idea or Title or Author, Attitude, or miscellaneous type passages.

General Knowledge (GK) covers informational topics from news, sports, history, etc
