The main function of forensic science laboratories is to provide unbiased scientific opinion on the different types of evidential material referred to them by the investigating agencies and in turn help judiciary.

Directorate of Forensic science laboratory Mumbai and Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory Conducted All India Forensic Science conference at Mumbai in year 2003 and at Aurangabad in year 2010.

Forensic Science Laboratory conducting training program for Investigating Officers, Police, Judicial Magistrate, and students.

Forensic science Laboratory conducting awareness week when laboratory is open for general public to know the forensic work.

Inuageration function of RFSL Nanded has been taken place by the hands of Director General Dr Meeran C Borwankar

Functioning of RFSL Kolhapur started from 01/04/2016
Required advanced instruments for Nanded and Kolhapur are purchased
