Vice Chancellor of Goa University is Dr. Satish Ramnath Shetye he is born in Panaji, Goa, in 1950. Dr. Shetye received his M.Sc. in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay, and Ph. D. Physical Oceanography from University of Washington, Seattle, USA. On completion of his doctoral studies in 1982 he joined CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Goa
Dr. Shetye joined Goa University, Goa, as its Vice-Chancellor on 17th September 2012.
