I have completed my PG degree and planning to take admission in Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for doing PhD degree part time. Can you provide details about the eligibility and admission for part time PhD also tell list of fields in which PhD courses offered here?

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a public university for scientific research and higher education located in Bangalore, India.

PhD offered in:

Biological Sciences
Chemical Sciences
Physical Sciences
Mathematical Sciences.

Eligibility and Admission

Candidates possessing a minimum of first class in B Sc or equivalent degree in Physical, Mathematical, Chemical, Biological Sciences (including Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences) are eligible to apply.

BE / B Tech degree holders who qualify in Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics paper in JAM are eligible to apply only to Mathematical Sciences discipline, and those who appear in Biotechnology paper in JAM are eligible to apply to Biological Sciences discipline.

Ph.D

The duration of the Ph.D. program is usually 4-5 years. The students are expected to be self-motivated and should be able to work well in teams as well as individually.
