National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a group of fashion colleges established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion business.

The vision of NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) is to emerge as a centre of excellence and innovation, proactively catalysing growth of fashion business through leadership in professional education with concern for social and human values.

The Degrees awarded by the Institute are recognised worldwide. The Institute confers Degrees to the graduates in the Convocation Ceremony marking the occasion.

In 2017 CEOWORLD magazine ranking of the best fashion schools in the world, it was ranked 19th. Its alumni include Nikita Anand, Manish Arora, Ritu Beri, Gulshan Devaiah, Shivaji Dutta, Shantanu Goenka, Prabal Gurung, Tanya Gyani, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Neha Sharma, etc.
