MCI has permitted increase of 190 seats in Bihar medical institutions for admission to study MBBS course from the academic year 2012-13. The MCI permitted seats in MBBS are available to the eligible candidates. The numbers that increased in 2 existing institutions are 90 & new college is 100. The admission entrance details of government & private colleges are as under:

For Government Medical Colleges & for certain percent of government sanctioned seats in private un-aided institutions, are given to the students qualified in the common entrance examination of BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Private Medical Colleges Association, Bihar, a private un-aided educational institutions association conducts their own entrance examination.

For NRI Quota, a separate notification issued by respective colleges.
