Format of the MICAT Exam : Section Number of Questions Section 1 4 descriptive questions Psychometric Test 30 questions Reasoning & Verbal Ability 35 questions General Knowledge 25 questions Marking Scheme 25 per cent marks for ‘Wrong attempt’ in VA, QA, GA and DCR section. Syllabus MICAT Syllabus - Verbal Ability Pronouns Tenses Articles Vocabulary Reading Comprehension passage, etc. MICAT Syllabus - Quantitative Ability There will be a negative marking of 25 per cent of the allotted marks. The important topics for Quantitative Ability are listed as follows: Algebra Arithmetic DI Geometry Numbers Set Theory Trigonometry, etc. MICAT 2018 Syllabus - General Awareness There will be a deduction of 25 per cent of the allotted marks for the incorrect answer. The important topics for General Awareness are listed as follows: Business, Brands and Media Current Affairs Company and Owner Geography Advertising and Marketing News Presenters Sports News Politics Indian Constitution Literature Science & research History, etc. MICAT Syllabus - Divergent-Convergent Reasoning The aspirants will have to prepare for verbal reasoning, word association and statement assumption. There will be a negative marking of 25 per cent of the allotted marks. Data Sufficiency Sequence and Series Statement – Assumption Visual Reasoning Word Association, etc. MICAT Syllabus - Descriptive Test In this section, the questions will be descriptive in nature. This section will test the creative writing skills of the test takers. There is no negative marking in this section. The total number of questions asked is expected to be four in the Descriptive Test section.
