University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata invites application for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme in Philosophy offered at the Department of Philosophy for the session 2016.

PhD Philosophy Admissions 2016-

Total No. of Seats: 04 (SC-02-, OBC-A=01, OBC-B=01)

Important Dates-

Last Date for Submission of Application Forms to the Dept. 03rd November 2016
List of candidates eligible to appear for the direct Interview & Written Test: 08th November 2016
Date of Written Exam: 10th November 2016 (11.30 a.m to 1.30 p.m)
Date of Written Test and are eligible for the interview will be put up on 16th November 2016
Interview will be held on 17th November 2016 from 12 noon onwards
Final List of selected candidates for PhD will be put up latest by 14th December 2016
Coursework will commence from 21st December 2016

Eligibility-

Candidates must have M.A. Degree in Philosophy from recognised University.

Selection Procedure-

Selection of candidates will be based upon their performance in the entrance test and interview conducted by the institute

Those candidates who have already passed UGC/ CSIR (JRF) examinations/ NET/ SET/SLET/M.Phil (Philosophy)/Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations need not appear at the written examination and can directly apply to appear at the interview
