The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) invites application form for admission to PhD program in the various disciplines of Agriculture Sciences at IARI, New Delhi and discipline of Agricultural Engineering at CIAE, Bhopal and disciplines of Horticulture and Post Harvest Technology at IIHR, Bangalore.

Eligibility

Candidates who have appeared in the Masters degree examination are eligible to apply

A) Open Scheme

Bachelors Degree Programmes under 10+2+4 OR 10+2+3 OR 10+1+4 system (OR awarded B.Sc. degree under 10+2+2 system prior to 1985) and fulfill the qualifications as prescribed in this bulletin are eligible to apply for admission

For General/OBC Candidates:

At least 60% marks OR an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 7.50 out of 10.00 OR 3.75 out of 5.00 OR 3.00 out of 4.00 OR 2.25 out of 3.00 in M.Sc/M.Sc (Ag.)/M.Tech/M.E

For SC/ST/PC Candidates:

At least 55% marks OR OGPA of 7.00 out of 10.00 OR 3.50 out of 5.00 OR 2.80 out of 4.00 OR 2.10 out of 3.00 in M.Sc / M.Sc (Ag.)/M. Tech/M.E

The minimum age for admission shall be 21 years. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.

Selection Procedure:-

Students are selected on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR, the Interview, and past academic records.

Following is the marks distribution for the same.

Academic Records - 10%.
Entrance Examination - 80%.
Interview - 10%.

The entrance test will comprise of three papers. Paper I will cater to questions from General Agriculture, while Paper II & III will have subject-specific questions.

The students need at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PC students) in order to qualify the Entrance Examination.

The ones who qualify the Entrance Examination are called for an Interview.
