If you want to do phd from Mumbai University there for it you have to appear in Ph.D. Entrance Test:

Eligibility
You must have masters degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent marks.

Admission to Phd Courses is done through Common Entrance Test namely PET (Ph.D Entrance Test).

•Applicants who have qualified in GATE/SET/NET/(JRF) examinations are exempt from appearing for PET.

•Applicants who hold a Teacher Fellowship with CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR and DBT are also exempt.
