Uttarakhand Open University is located in the city of Haldwani in the Indian State of Uttarakhand and it is the only Open University in the state established recently in the year 2005.

The university was established by an Act of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and it is presently offering education under different disciplines through different schools functioning under its control.

The categories under which course are offered preparatory programmes, PG Diploma Courses, Diploma Courses, Certificate course, PG courses and UG Courses.
