The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organization to help professionalize the India’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources, analyzing and disseminating data and conducting research.

The Objectives & Activities for setting up IIFT or Indian Institute of Foreign Trade are as follows:

• Impart professional education in modern management techniques relevant to international business.
• Enable the participants to appreciate the interrelationship between the diverse and complex tasks of international business.
