The objectives of the workshop are -

To enable research scholars to engage with movies primarily as visual texts and to appreciate the aesthetics of films

To make them familiar with different subgenres within the broad discipline of film studies and the theories involved in it

To understand various movements and the historical and political location involved in the growth of the genre

Number of Participants:

The number of participants was limited to 40

Target Audience-

The workshop is open to research scholars/faculty who are pursuing or have their Ph. D in Cultural Studies/Film Studies from various affiliated Universities and Institutes all over India.
