Can you tell me if Letter of Intent or Statement of Purpose is compulsory to have for admission in MBA Program offered by Barney School of University of Hartford?

The Barney School of University of Hartford follows the standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). To assess the potential of candidates for admission, it looks carefully at scores on the GMAT and performance in undergraduate and other graduate programs.

Admission Requirements

In addition, it will review professional and academic recommendations as well as the motivation of the applicant as evidenced in the letter of intent. All candidates must:
Complete an on-line application and pay a $50 application fee
Send official transcripts of all previous baccalaureate and graduate study,
Submit 2 letters of recommendation from academic or professional sources,
Take and send the results of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Write a letter of intent and resume.

International MBA Applicants

All candidates must submit the following:
A completed application form
Application fee: Waived
Official transcripts of all post-secondary institutions - must have non-US academic degrees evaluated on a course - by - course basis by World Education Services or EC Higher education.
2 letters of recommendation
Letter of Intent or Statement of Purpose
Current resume
The official score report of either TOEFL or IELTS English proficiency exam or EC Higher Education Certification
Guarantor's Statement with supporting financial documents from a financial institution with current U.S. dollars exchange rates.

The official score report of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or one of the following:
A GMAT waiver.
A U.S. Masters Degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent.
