The The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is extended beyond Delhi and is chosen West Bengal as the region to establish its first ever campus outside Delhi.

The Government of West Bengal has allotted a land of 7 acres with a provision for further three acres in 2006.

With the active support of both Central and State Governments, the Kolkata campus of IIFT will be operational from its own premises.
