New India Assurance Co. Ltd was incorporated on July 23rd, 1919 and founded by the House of Tata Founder member - Sir Dorab Tata. It was nationalized in 1973 with merger of Indian companies.

It operates both in India and foreign countries. It has collaborated with some of the leading public sector bank of India like State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank and United Western Bank to increase its distribution network.

Awards

It was selected as the General Insurance Company of the year in the 6th Fintelekt India Insurance Awards at a ceremony held at Lalit Sahar, at Mumbai on 26 June 2015.
