The Zonal Centres of GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering are listed for the benefit of the students appearing for GATE. The GATE Zonal Centres comprise of seven IITs and IISc Bangalore and are together responsible for conducting the GATE exam.

GATE is jointly administered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee)

All the operations related to GATE in each of the 8 zones are managed by the zonal GATE Office at the IITs named above or IISc. The Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination amongst the administering Institutes.
