The Directorate of Sports, Panjab University was set up in the year 1948. There are 180 men, women, co-educational & Educational Colleges affiliated to the University.

The Directorate of Sports is located in the Panjab University Jawahar Lal Nehru Complex Building (Gymnasium Hall).

This complex has a magnificent air conditioned gymnasium hall for in-door games with international standard facilities and equipment for badminton, table-tennis, kabaddi (NS), weight lifting, judo and wrestling
