Whenever reached, KSOU Vice-Chancellor M G Krishnan said he would document a request against the UGC see either in the High Court or the Supreme Court, taking into account the legitimate guidance. He said that according to the Sikkim High Court judgment, the UGC had no energy to intercede in the undertakings of any college. "Counting Kuvempu college, varsities like Annamalai, Sikkim-Manipal, GITAM, Bharathidasan, have transgressed the segment of regional locale. It would seem that the KSOU is being singled out and focused on," he included.

Advanced education Minister R V Deshpande said the UGC has not stopped acknowledgment to the courses offered by the KSOU, and that it had only served a notification. "Open colleges can't offer specialized or expert courses, nor would they be able to open study focuses outside the State.
