Manchester Metropolitan University hold fairs for the benefits of students and Graduates which help them to understand the actual job market and even get jobs.

The Graduate Job & Placement Fair:

The fair is open to all MMU students and 2015 graduates, the Graduate Job and Placement Fair is your chance to enhance your career prospects.

The fair helps to meet employers, find placement and work experience opportunities or secure a job for after graduation.

The fair is a good source to starting your job or placement search early will increase your chances of being recruited!

The fair gives students the advantage to network with employers and take the chance to find out about the types of jobs available to them during university and after graduation. These are employers with real job vacancies and this is your chance to organise your placement or graduate job before the summer.

Be Prepared for the Fair:

Check the Fair programme in advance so you know who will be there.

Research the companies you want to approach so that you understand their recruitment process
and potential opportunities. Use your research to think of some questions in advance.

Think about what you want from the event and how you will pitch yourself on the day if someone
asks ‘How can I help you?’

Make sure your CV is up to scratch as some employers may accept them on the day. Make use

On the day of the Fair

Present yourself well - Think about the image you want to project.

Be confident - Employers are there to meet you, now is your time to shine!

Ask relevant questions - Try not to ask things you could easily have researched beforehand. You
might ask about the company culture or how you could impress them in an application.

Take notes - Note down the names of the people you speak to and a reminder of the conversation
to make future contact easier.
