Karnataka State Eligibility Test KSET exam is conducted by the University of Mysore for the posts of lecturer and assistant professorship.

KSET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks for general Category and 50% for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons With Disability (PWD-VH/PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB candidates, in master’s degree OR equivalent examination from universities recognized by UGC New Delhi, in subjects like Science, Humanities (including languages), Social science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic science etc., are eligible to appear for this test.

Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the Master’s degree examination and whose result is still awaited can also apply.

The Ph.D. Degree holders shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks

KSET Pattern-

K-SET exam consists of two session containing three papers i.e Paper I, Paper II and Paper III which will be evaluated only if a candidate secure minimum prescribed marks in Paper I and Paper II.

KSET Syllabus

KSET will consist of questions from the relevant subjects on the pattern of the UGC-NET.

Syllabus for Paper I

Paper I will be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50) questions. In the event of candidate attempting more than fifty (50) questions, the first fifty (50) questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.

Syllabus for Paper II

Paper II shall consist of questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each paper will consist of a Test Booklet containing 50 compulsory objective type questions of two marks each.

Syllabus for Paper III

Paper III shall consist of questions based on the subjects selected by the candidate. As per the revised guidelines effective form June 2010 by the UGC, New Delhi.
