Re: NBRC Stanford University

The National Board Resource Center operates under the direction of the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education

Its primary mission is to offer support to educational systems and teachers around National Board certification, promote teacher leadership, and improve the quality of teaching in California schools.

Candidate Support Program 2016-2017

The program provides a supportive, collaborative, learning environment. Certificate groups are led by National Board Certified Teachers

Dates for 2016-17 are:

August 27, 2016- Here's the long recording from our work on our Standard organizers and rubric comparison fro C1, C2, and C3.

September 10, 2016- Here's the recording of our large group session on Component 2.

September 24, 2016
November 12, 2016
December 10, 2016
January 7, 2017
February 18, 2017
March 18, 2017
April 8, 2017
May 13, 2017

The Stanford support group meets ten times on Saturday mornings, usually from 9:30-1:00 on the Stanford University campus.

Hybrid cohorts

There are cohorts in Fresno, Oakland, and Ross School District in Marin County.

Teachers meet in groups at those locations, attend most Stanford sessions remotely, and only attend a few sessions at Stanford. This enables teachers to collaborate, but not have to drive to Stanford each month.

Fees-

The cost of the support program is $150.00 one-time registration, plus $150 for each component you submit that year. Payments are due by October each year.
