– self assembly

UNIT 2 BIOSYNTHESIS AND FABRICATION OF NANOMATERIALS 12 Hrs.
Synthesis and characterization of nanoscale materials – Physical, chemical and Biological Microbial nanoparticle
production – Bionanofabrication - Biopolyester particles produced by microbes: synthesis and potential applications –
Cyanophyacin inclusions: biosynthesis and applications – magnetosomes in bacteria: biochemistry and applications

UNIT 3 APPLICATIONS OF NANODEVICES 12 Hrs.
overview of nanodevices and techniques in organic nanoscale systems for biosystems – Fullerens: properties and
characterization – carbon nanotubes: characterization and application – quantum dots – quantum wires – gold
nanoparticles – nanopores, Dendimeres.

UNIT 4 BIOSYNTHESIS OF NANOMOLECULES 12 Hrs.

Bacterial spores in bionanotechnology – bacterial protein complexes with potential applications in nanotechnology –
